Book Description
The world runs on technology. Not only can learning programming and building technical knowledge help our future professionals succeed with more and larger career opportunities, but it also sets them up to have a stronger impact and do their part to change the world!
The Python programming language is known for simplicity, versatility, and for helping you code faster. It's easy to learn and read (with a straightforward syntax, where the code looks like plain English). It's versatile, so it can be used in web development, data science, artificial intelligence, automation, and much more. It's flexible, so developers can work on different projects without having to switch languages. It's productive. The library of modules and packages is robust, which means developers don't have to write as much code from scratch. And, it's social. The community proactively supports each other, which means there are many resources, and you can get a lot of help.
Students (age 8+) can become honorary IncrediCoders in "IncrediCoders: Python Adventures!" While enjoying a fun story, your IncrediCoders will build seven different games and programs in Python. They will also face 18 additional challenges to optionally add features to each game and program. In addition to detailed instructions in the book, we also have even more exhaustive instructions and hints online, as well as the final game files, the final code files (so you can check to see how your code matches up), quizzes to test the student's knowledge, rewards to celebrate the your IncrediCoder's progress through the book, Unplugged Activities to play in-person, physical games (to reinforce the book's coding principles), and a GitHub community where your IncrediCoder can ask questions and share ideas.
Join Paul Python and his Power Posse (Grafika Turtle, Anna Conda, and SideWinder), as the four fearless yet furless friends venture from their new school to far-off planets, to rescue the kidnapped frenemy Bayo Wolf, to battle Virobotica and her Virobots, and, yep you guessed it, to combat the Cryptic Creeper! Through the journey, students what learn about turtle graphics, if statements, variables, for loops, and all the priceless pearls of Python programming, using Replit or Microsoft Visual Studio Code. This book is a treasure trove of tremendous treats!
